My Instructional Learning Opportunities Guidance System

Thousands of teachers have entrusted MyiLOGS with their instructional data. Therefore, it is our priority to take our teachers’ security and privacy concerns seriously. We strive to ensure that every teacher’s instructional data is kept securely. MyiLOGS uses some of the most advanced technology for Internet security that is commercially available today. This Security Statement is aimed at being transparent about our security infrastructure and practices, to help reassure you that your data is appropriately protected.

MyiLOGS is designed to support teachers document their own instructional actions and to synthesize this teacher self-reported data into periodic feedback reports about these actions so they can use it to improve the impact of their efforts on student learning. To use MyiLOGS you must first pass a training course to ensure your data are input with high fidelity. Once you have passed the training, you are provided a Username and Password so you can create an account for logging your daily instructional actions.

If you create a logging account, then….

  • Your logging data are yours. We don't share your logging data with your name or other identifying information listed with anybody else unless you indicate you want others to see a summary of the data. MyiLOGS de-identifies your data by replacing your name with a number code that indicates the grade level and subject matter the data represent. We then periodically aggregate this de-identified data to create norms so that other teachers can use these norms for comparisons, if they wish.

  • We safeguard respondents' email addresses. We need your email to facilitate initial communications with you. We don't sell your email address and we use it only as directed by you and in accordance with this policy.

  • We keep your data securely. Read our Security Statement for more information. Despite best efforts, no method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. However, if MyiLOGS learns of a security breach, we will notify affected users so that they can take appropriate protective steps. Our breach notification procedures are consistent with our obligations under various state and federal laws and regulation, as well as any industry rules or standards that we adhere to. Notification procedures include providing email notices or posting a notice on our website if a breach occurs.

  • Your logging data are stored on servers located in the United States.

  • Your responsibilities. Keeping your data secure also depends on you ensuring that you maintain the security of your account by using sufficiently complicated passwords and storing them safely. You should also ensure that you have sufficient security on your own systems, to keep any data you download to your own computer away from prying eyes.
